On Our Own
Stream-of-consciousness tales of a single mom and her two kids as we embark on a life-altering adventure.
We are a single-parent family based in Portland, Oregon but spending the summer in northern Vietnam.
Our triumvirate includes Teresa, Stuart (16) and Audrey (11).
During our travels in Vietnam in 2007, we spent two months volunteering with orphanages in Tam Ky (central Vietnam) and
then lived at Hong Duc University in Thanh Hoa City where Teresa taught English.
The summer '09 adventure will include teaching
once again in Thanh Hoa as well as various volunteer work, including bringing donations to orphanages in Tam Ky, Hoi An, Thanh Hoa.
If you are interested in joining our effort to provide for the orphans, you can help by making a financial contribution or purchasing recycled rice bags
available on our Vietnam With Kids website.

Thanks so much for shareing your trip and experiences. This is something we would never get to see. It almost looks like where they filmed the final scenes from one of the later James Bond movies?
